Pigeons Playing Ping Pong

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong | Perspective

By BennyD

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong released Perspective in April this year and the boisterous boys from Baltimore delivered a piece that checks all the boxes. From the top to bottom they managed to achieve a well rounded body of work that mixes creative rhythms and melodies with an ever present framework of danceable jam funk. The album boasts great cameos in several songs including the horn section from Here Come the Mummies, percussionist Jason Hann from the String Cheese Incident as well as a silky performance by ALO’s Zach Gill on keys during Indiglo. The LP takes the listener on a fun and funky ride across 12 tracks that run between 4 and 7 minutes in length and includes lots of tracks that fans have and will continue to hear variations of live.

My personal favorites are Sir Real and Indiglo but I really enjoyed listening to every track. It’s pretty clear they enjoyed putting this together and worked hard to ensure it landed with their fans and grabbed a few more along the way. This album gets two big thumbs up in my book. Check out some of the tracks in my Ben Jammin’ show below. Enjoy!
